FAQ

Everything you need to know before booking.

How many people does the house sleep?
Casa Los Tres Nogales is a whole country house with 5 bedrooms for 10 people in beds, up to 13 with extra beds. Ideal for groups of friends and families with children.
How are the bedrooms and bathrooms arranged?
The house has two floors. Downstairs, an en-suite bedroom with its own bathroom plus a separate toilet. Upstairs, four bedrooms sharing two bathrooms. In total: 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a toilet.
Is there a pool and outdoor space?
Yes. The house has a large lawned garden with a pool, a barbecue and a porch with sofas and long tables for the whole group. The barbecue runs on charcoal (not gas). For paella we have a 60 cm gas paella burner with a stand, gas included, for €30 per weekend; ask for it when you book.
Where is it and how do I get there?
It is in Castroserna de Arriba, in the Segovia mountains. It is an easy drive, which is the practical option for a group. The village is quiet and can be explored on foot.
What is the price and the minimum stay?
The whole house starts at €400 per day, with a minimum stay of 2 days. Each extra bed costs €15 per day.
What are the extra beds like?
They are proper beds: every one of them has a slatted base and a normal, good-quality mattress, not the usual foam mattress that sags in the middle. You sleep just as well as in any other bed in the house, so they suit anyone, at any age.
Is there wi-fi? Can I work remotely?
Yes. The house has free fibre-optic wi-fi covering the whole house, with plenty of speed for remote work, video calls or streaming in the evening.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, pets are welcome. There is an extra charge: tell us when you book and we will confirm the amount for your stay. We will also share a couple of practical notes about the house and the garden.
What does the house include? Do I need to bring sheets and towels?
You don't need to bring any of that: the house comes fully equipped, sheets and towels included, also for the extra beds. Fully fitted kitchen with a washing machine. All you need to bring is food and personal belongings.
Is there mobile phone coverage?
We'd rather be straight about this: mobile coverage in the village is poor. That is why the house has fibre wi-fi in every room, which is what you'll use to browse, make video calls and call over WhatsApp without trouble. A repeater is planned to improve coverage.
Where can I park?
On the street, right next to the house. It is a small village and there is plenty of room, even if you come in several cars.
Is there heating? And a fireplace?
Yes. Heating is by aerothermal system and it is included in the price, with no surcharges or timetables. We leave the living-room fireplace with a few kilos of firewood as a courtesy; if you want more, we can provide it for a small charge. Just ask.
Can I smoke?
Smoking is not allowed inside the house. In the garden and on the porch, no problem.
Can we celebrate a birthday or a stag/hen party?
The house is for the people staying in it: celebrations with guests from outside the group are not allowed. And from 11 pm we ask for no noise, out of respect for the village and the neighbours. If you have something bigger in mind, write to us first and we'll look into it.
Do we have to clean before leaving?
You don't have to clean the house: we take care of that. We only ask you to leave everything tidy and the kitchenware you used clean and back in its place. No need to make the beds, clean the bathrooms or mop the floors.
How do we get the keys? What if we arrive at night?
We normally hand them over in person and show you around the house. If you arrive at night or we can't be there that day, there is a key box ready and we send you the instructions.
How do I pay? Is there a deposit?
A deposit confirms the booking, and the rest is paid in cash when you get the keys. The security deposit is €100: either left in cash on arrival and returned when you leave, or included in the amount paid and refunded 48 hours after you leave the house, if there is no damage.
Can I book a single night?
As a rule no: the minimum stay is 2 nights, and always so at weekends. Outside weekends, write to us and we'll look at the dates.
What if I need to cancel?
Write to us as soon as you know and we'll explain the terms depending on the dates and how long is left before check-in. The earlier you tell us, the easier it is to find a solution.
Are there bars or shops in the village?
There are no bars or shops in Castroserna de Arriba: it is a small, very quiet village, and that is exactly what people come for. It is best to arrive with your shopping done. Prádena (10 km) and Sepúlveda (18 km) have everything.
Is the pool available all year round?
No. The pool is for the summer season; the rest of the year it is not in use. In winter the plan is a different one: fireplace, heating and the living room with its window onto the garden.
Is the pool safe if we come with children?
The pool is above ground and you get in by a ladder that can be removed: with it out, the pool is out of children's reach. We'll show you when you arrive.
Is it accessible for someone with reduced mobility?
Partly. The steps up to the porch are not accessible, but once inside the whole ground floor is, and that is where the en-suite bedroom with its bathroom is. If that is your case, write to us and we'll go through the details so you can decide.
We're coming with babies — are there high chairs and cots?
Yes, the house has high chairs and cots. Tell us how many babies are coming when you book and we'll have them ready.
A review mentioned wasp nests — are they still there?
It was a one-off wasp nest in some plants by the entrance: it was removed and has not come back. Beyond that, the usual insects of being right out in the countryside.
